- Arrivals taxi queing is getting better with signs now saying that the surcharge is 50 Baht

- Shuttle bus service is chaotic, taxi surcharge is 100 Baht (was 50 before)
- Most restaurants still not open but lots of people and equipment moving in


September 20, 2006 (Coup Day +1): Drove from/to Bangkok and toured facility
- Taxis are available at Level 1 for transportation to Bangkok and Pattaya
- Restaurants on Level 3 & 5 are not yet open, food court is open on Level 1 International side
- Novotel Suvarnabumi Airport Hotel has been open since September 1

Suvarnabhumi ท่าอากาศยานสุวรรณภูมิ is pronounced "su-wan-na-poom", which is a bizzare transliteration into English and means golden land.

Transition from Don Muang to Suvarnabhumi:
- Some domestic & international flights started September 15, 2006 (Thai Airways and Jet Star)
- Bangkok Airways started their flight relocations on September 21
- September 21, 2006 confirmation from Thai military that airport opening on schedule
- Thai Air Asia have moved all their flights on September 25
- Thai Airways on Sep. 26 confirmed they will move all their flights on September 28
- Nok Air moved all their flights effective September 27
- All other international and domestic flights started September 28, 2006, with many of the September 27 evening arrivals were at Suvarnabhumi, not Don Muang

This Thai Airways website has not been updated since August 28, 2005. We crawled it on September 30, 2006. In fact, it says the official opening date is/was October 1, 2005. Worth a look anyway...
